Air Quality
People would be surprised how many symptoms they have are from mold growth. Sinus problems? Headaches? Drowsiness? Lingering cough? Our bet is on air contaminates.
Did you know that 60% of the air in your home comes from your crawlspace? If you do not see mold inside your home, stick your head in your crawlspace.
Our indoor air purification systems are capable of filtering 99% of airborne contaminants. This includes filtering mold, bacteria, viruses, pollen, and mites.
Open Your Vents
Mold thrives off moisture. This summer, Durham had more than average rainfall. As we enter the winter months, this would be a good time to open the vents on your crawlspace. Do not leave them open, but give it a couple days to dry.
This will not only dry the crawlspace, but also provide fresh air. Why is this important? Remember that 60% of the air you breathe in your home comes from the crawlspace. The fresh air replaces the stale moist air.
Standing Water
Keep your eyes open for standing water. Look underneath your sinks, around the corners of your shower, and around the corners of your windows. If you see standing water, clean it up. When you find where water collects, continue to check back and mop the moisture.
Again, these steps will dramatically reduce the chance of mold, but to be as safe as possible, give us a call and we can talk about our filtration systems.
